01The problem

The Rawstornes had two things to sell and one chance to do it. Guests looking for a room in the Midlands and companies looking for an events venue arrive with completely different questions, but both land on the same homepage from the same Google search.

The previous approach buried the Business Hall below the room listings, so event enquiries came in by phone or not at all — and every booking that did arrive came through a listing site taking its cut.

02What I built

A single page that forks early. Above the fold, one decision: staying the night, or hosting something. Each path then runs its own short sequence — rooms, rates and a direct enquiry for guests; capacity, layout and availability for events.

Photography does the persuading. The ten rooms are African-inspired and the estate is solar-powered on real gardens, so the build gets out of the way: full-bleed images, minimal chrome, and a contact action never more than one scroll away.

Kept deliberately static — hand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no build step or CMS. It loads fast on a rural connection and there is nothing to break, patch or renew.

03Result

Enquiries arrive directly instead of through a commission-taking platform, and the Business Hall now has a front door of its own rather than a paragraph at the bottom of a page.
