02 — Selected work

Client work, a product I built end to end, and one experiment. Everything here is live — the links go to the real thing, not a mockup.

  • The Rawstornes @ 268 homepage showing the guest house exterior and garden estate
    01Client — Bed & Breakfast

    The Rawstornes @ 268

Ten rooms, a business hall and a solar garden estate — sold on one page.

A family-run bed & breakfast in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The site had to do two jobs at once: fill African-inspired guest rooms and book out the Business Hall for events, without pushing either audience through the other's journey.

    Your business here

One slot open for the next Western Cape guest house or small business.

I take a small number of builds at a time so each one gets full attention. If you run a guest house, BnB or small business in the Western Cape and your site should be doing more than it is, this slot is yours.

Since
Self-taught, 2024

I spent years in sales before I wrote a line of code, which turns out to be the useful order. It means I start from the question a guest is actually asking — can I trust this place, and how do I book it — rather than from a design trend.

I'm based in Cape Town, and most of my clients are the kind of business I grew up around: family-run guest houses, BnBs and small operations where the owner answers the phone. They don't need a brand refresh. They need the person searching for them at 9pm on a phone to find the right number and press it.

Everything I build is self-taught — Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, deployed on Vercel — and I keep it deliberately simple. No CMS you'll never log into, no platform fee, no plugin that breaks in eighteen months.

A guest house doesn't lose bookings because its website isn't beautiful. It loses them because the phone number is wrong, the page takes six seconds, or Google thinks it closed in 2019.
